Back to School 2014

And some were more ready than others.

Poor kid.  This picture totally cracks me up.  It is just so him.

Every year I like to have the kids bring a little first day of school gift for their teachers.  Yup, I am a suck up.  Actually, I just think it is nice.  Like back when you would go to someone's home for the first time you would bring a hostess gift.   Not to mention this person is about to take on a task that I did not want to do and she might need a little chocolate to get through it.

Anyway, so this year I decorated these cute little jars and filled them with M&Ms.

I think it is nice that they are just something really small that my kids can hand off to their teachers without a lot of fanfare.

All I did was make this cute little printable, Mod Podge it to a little mason jar, fill it with M&Ms, stick a cupcake paper on the top, and tie a little string around it.  And as a bonus to you, you don't even have to make the printable.  You can just use this one.

(just right click on it and save it to your computer.)

Happy Back to School!

Oh yeah, third grade is something to look forward too.

Oh here, have one more printable.

Fall Just Between Friends Sales

My kids go back to school on Monday, but for those of you who have a little more time, this is the perfect opportunity to score great back to school deals.  Well really it is just a great opportunity to get really awesome deals on everything for kids... clothes, room decor, gear, and toys!

There are two Just Between Friends sales for all you Utah peeps to pick from. The first one is in South Jordan NEXT WEEK!  And the next one is in Farmington September 23-27th.

So here is the deal.  It is great to shop these, but even better to sell stuff at them and you still have time to get stuff ready sell at either sale.  I will be selling at both sales again this time.  Can I tell you I mad crazy amounts of cash at the sale in the spring.  We are talkin' 4 digit numbers.  Although, keep in mind that I have 5 kids, so I have a LOT of stuff to sell, but still I have plenty of friends who make $100 to $400 each sale.  Plus if you are a consignor you get to shop the sale the night before it opens to the public (meaning first shot at the best stuff)

If you want more info on selling at the sale there is a ton of info, including video tutorials, on their site. HERE

I am also giving away early admission passes for the Thursday of the sale at 9am.  Just email me your address and I will drop one in the mail too you.  laura @

Pretty Paper Wreath

I seem to have a thing for paper wreath, but I can't help it.  I just love the fullness and texture that you can create with paper.

The addition of the lace doilies and burlap ribbon give a little extra texture.  I made this wreath for a Relief Society service auction, but I kinda think it needy to be hanging over a chippy old door or something.

If you want to make your own you can follow the tutorial here.  It is basically the same, only I used a foam wreath base for this wreath and added the little paper doilies and burlap ribbon.
